Road to EUPW2026: Florence Connects Italy to Europe

Al via la "Road to Europe Project Week 2026, primo festival dedicato all'europrogettazione in Italia in programma dal 20 al 22 ottobre

FLORENCE – On Thursday, May 21, the Palazzo dei Congressi in Florence hosted "Road to EUPW2026 - Communicating European Projects," a preview event that officially launches the journey toward Europa Project Week (EUPW) 2026, Italy’s premier festival dedicated to EU project design and European funds. The initiative aims to demystify the intricate machinery of EU projects, turning them into an accessible, transparent, and impactful narrative for the general public.

The debate was led by Vito Cellamaro, the creator and director of the event, who emphasized the mission to transform European projects from an elite subject into a shared collective heritage. Institutional welcomes were delivered by Bernard Dika, Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Tuscan Regional Government, and Tamara Ermini, Vice President of Firenze Fiera.

The panel featured high-profile industry experts, including Arianna Ioli (Director of Europa Business School), Rocco De Franchi (Director of Institutional Communication for the Puglia Region), Manuela Marsano (Head of CERV Italy), Ani Baboomian (Managing Director of Impact Hub Florence), Edoardo Ramondo (Managing Director  of Impact Hub Turin), Serena Governali (E-Magister), Alessandro Carbone (Project Manager at Agorà), and Antonio De Chiara (Europolitiche). Institutional welcomes were delivered by Bernard Dika, Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Tuscan Regional Government, and Tamara Ermini, Vice President of Firenze Fiera.

The true heart of the initiative will unfold in the autumn: from October 20 to 22, 2026, Florence's historic Fortezza da Basso will host the EUPW2026 Expo-Forum. Over three days, the event will connect institutions, businesses, universities, the third sector, and young talent through workshops, specialized training courses, and vertical thematic pavilions. A key highlight will be the Euroeconomie special exhibition—one of two conference cycles curated by Antonio De Chiara, Managing Director of the Europolitiche group. This series will feature an array of prominent figures, with the first confirmed guests including Piervirgilio Dastoli, Carlo Sorrentino, Vittoria Franco, Daniela Felisini, Simone Oggionni, Dieter Schleker, Mario Leone, Emanuele Monaco, Marco Buti, Emanuele Felice, Sabina De Luca, and Giusy Rossi. With this inaugural milestone, the path toward October is firmly set, laying the groundwork for a closer, more impactful dialogue between local territories and Brussels institutions.
